Lufthansa Technik signed an agreement with the low-cost airline JetSMART to provide maintenance for its fleet over the next five years. With this agreement, Lufthansa’s MRO division expands its services to the South American continent.
The contract between both companies includes comprehensive CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization) support and aircraft engineering services, such as maintenance program support and modification and component management. The collaboration has already begun and will initially cover 25 Airbus A320 family aircraft.
«We are proud to now also welcome Chilean JetSMART among our customers. It is an honor that we now work with another major airline from the Indigo Partners group,» said Georgios Ouzounidis, Vice President of Corporate Sales for the Americas at Lufthansa Technik.
The agreement has been in effect for three weeks, and both parties have expressed satisfaction. Lufthansa Technik has established a support service in Santiago, Chile, to meet JetSMART’s needs.
JetSMART CEO, Estuardo Ortiz, stated: «JetSMART appreciates Lufthansa Technik’s expertise in aircraft engineering services. We were looking not only for a provider but also for a partner that could support our growth, be flexible enough to adapt to our AOC configuration, and offer secure and stable processes.»
«Engineering and CAMO are mission-critical areas. That’s why we are very pleased with the trust JetSMART has placed in us and, of course, with the positive feedback we are receiving from our new partners,» commented Christian Dieckert, Head of Engineering Services at Lufthansa Technik.
