On June 13, Air Tahiti Nui began its non-stop flights between Seattle – Tacoma and Paris, this service will be available throughout the year. After becoming the first airline to offer service between French Polynesia and the Northeast Pacific, it now operates its first transatlantic route from Seattle.
Flight TN 58 was operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner registered F-OVAA and christened «Bora Bora». The aircraft departed Seattle – Tacoma International Airport (SEA) at 15:07 local time and arrived at Paris – Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) at 09:02 the following day, after eight hours and 55 minutes.
Air Tahiti Nui first landed in Seattle in October 2022, making it the carrier’s second destination in the United States. In partnership with Alaska Airlines, the airline becomes the only and first carrier to provide nonstop flights connecting the South Pacific, the Pacific Northeast, and now, Paris.
«This new service offers an additional option for travelers between metropolitan France and French Polynesia. And, of course, we say to those travelers: Don’t forget Seattle! Make a stop along the way!«, said Arif Ghouse, SEA’s Director of Airport Operations.
The airline will offer 1,176 weekly seats between Seattle and Paris, competing in this segment with Delta Air Lines and Air France, both members of the Skyteam alliance. This twice-weekly service will be complemented by the company’s operations between Los Angeles and Paris with five flights a week. Air Tahiti Nui will continue to operate a daily connection between the United States and France.
The codeshare partnership between Alaska and Air Tahiti Nui allows passengers to travel via Seattle to and from nearly 100 cities in North America. Both airlines provide access to popular destinations such as Vancouver, Boston, Chicago, Miami, New York and the islands of Tahiti.
«Starting this new service to Paris this summer was a way for us to offer even more options for our Tahitian customer base to reach Paris, while allowing the Seattle region to enjoy more options to explore France and Europe«, said Mathieu Bechonnet, CEO of Air Tahiti Nui.
Air Tahiti Nui’s new route to Paris is the eleventh new international service to open in Seattle since the pandemic. In total, Seattle is connected to 46 international airports, with 25 airlines providing nonstop flights to 29 international destinations.
