WestJet is expanding its transatlantic offering by operating year-round between Calgary and Paris – Charles de Gaulle due to strong demand. The once seasonal route will have a daily flight schedule during the peak summer season.
The Canandian airline’s new extended service will complement the Calgary – London Heathrow route that also operates year-round, creating new options for Western Canadian customers to fly to Europe every month of the year. In addition, WestJet is the only airline to have non-stop flights between the province of Alberta and France.
«By strengthening our intercontinental network with year-round flights to Paris, we are opening up a new world of opportunities for business and leisure travelers destined for Europe. The success of our intercontinental destinations from YYC is only creating new and exciting ways for WestJet to connect Western Canadians with even greater access to Europe through the convenience of direct travel«, said Chris Avery, WestJet’s vice president of network planning, alliances and business development.
The addition of the year-round route to Paris furthers WestJet’s codeshare partnership with Air France. Customers have access to connect to more than 22 additional European destinations through the French carrier.
