Eve Air Mobility and Embraer to Build Groundbreaking eVTOL Production Facility in Brazil

Eve Air Mobility and Embraer announced plans to set up the world’s first dedicated eVTOL production facility in the city of Taubaté, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil.

Positioned within an allocated section of Embraer’s current unit in the city, the strategic location of the new plant is subject to final approvals from the authorities. The chosen site provides easy access to major transportation routes, including two highways and a nearby railway, lending significant logistical advantages.

Furthermore, the proximity of the site to Embraer’s headquarters in São José dos Campos and Eve’s engineering and HR team is expected to streamline the development and sustain the novel production processes.

Co-CEO of Eve, Andre Stein, stated “We wanted to reimagine how the aircraft could be built using the latest technology and manufacturing processes, coupled with other aspects such as supply chain and logistics.”

The aim, he continued, is to “offer safe and reliable products and services to the market and be highly competitive in manufacturing efficiency.” This forward-thinking strategy has led the team to design an optimized assembly line that places safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and sustainability at the forefront.

Embraer’s President & CEO, Francisco Gomes Neto, commented “This decision is aligned with our growth strategy plan, which is driven by innovation and sustainability.” He expressed firm belief in the immense potential of the global UAM market and reinforced Embraer’s commitment to Eve as a significant player in this burgeoning industry.

Last year, Eve teamed up with Porsche Consulting to conceptualize a global manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics macro strategy for Eve’s eVTOL. Drawing on their collective aeronautical and automotive expertise, the partnership has been investigating advanced manufacturing and innovation concepts.

Alice Altissimo, Vice President of Program Management and Operation at Eve, shared “We are focused on achieving the highest quality standards in eVTOL manufacturing through increased knowledge and consideration of an innovative approach.”

She affirmed that after extensive research, the team is ready to establish the initial factory for eVTOL production, which will efficiently and sustainably scale the production volume to cater to the demands of a rapidly expanding market.

In addition to developing its eVTOL, Eve is also dedicated to creating an extensive portfolio of agnostic solutions. This includes unique Urban Air Traffic Management (Urban ATM) software designed to optimize and scale Urban Air Mobility operations on a global scale.
