Honeywell unveiled today the innovative KX 200, a state-of-the-art navigation and communications system tailored for pilots operating in contemporary cockpits.
This ground-breaking technology is designed to be a smooth installation upgrade from the older KX 155 and KX 165 systems, offering pilots a streamlined transition to next-generation capabilities.
The KX 200 boasts a host of enhancements, including tailored features for European pilots. The system supports 25khz or 8.33khz frequencies and is universally compatible with both 14-volt and 28-volt systems.
The novel KX 200, a fully digital system, provides enhanced performance and comes equipped with an intuitive, high-resolution color LCD display for optimized pilot interaction. Other noteworthy features include a 50-channel memory preset function and compatibility with existing indicators and BendixKing equipment already installed in the aircraft.
Moreover, the KX 200 is future-proofed. It will be compatible with the forthcoming Honeywell Anthem cockpit, demonstrating Honeywell’s commitment to future capabilities and safety enhancements.
Andrew Barker, Vice President of Integrated Avionics at Honeywell Aerospace, commented on the KX 200’s development: «We redesigned the new KX 200 with ease of installation in mind.” He further noted that «the upgrade requires minimal or no aircraft downtime. Operators and owners of this new system will not have to worry about changing their navigation and communications systems if they decide to upgrade their existing cockpits.”
The KX 200 is set to hit the market in Q4 2023. Honeywell invites interested parties to get an early glimpse of the system at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023 event. Honeywell’s BendixKing Permanent Pavilion, booth #289-292, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, will showcase the much-anticipated KX 200 system.
The launch of the KX 200 reasserts Honeywell‘s standing at the forefront of aerospace technology, promising a leap forward in navigation and communications systems, ultimately enhancing the safety and experience of pilots worldwide.
