Emirates celebrates the first anniversary of the launch of its Premium Economy product

Emirates is celebrating its first year of full-service Premium Economy operations. More than 160,000 passengers have flown on the airline in its newest cabin product since its introduction to the market in 2022, and strong demand momentum is expected in the coming months.

The carrier is giving travelers more opportunities to try its Premium Economy, which is currently available on flights to 11 cities, and the list will increase to 13 by the final quarter of this year as more aircraft with refreshed cabins enter regular service.

The new product has exceeded the airline’s expectations and has been reflected in an increase in bookings on the new cabin product, demonstrating its appeal to a wide range of passenger segments. More than 60% of customers who booked a Premium Economy flight last year were Emirates Skywards members and regular customers of the airline.

The airline is also scheduled to offer the new product to Mumbai and Bangalore for the winter season, with other destinations to be announced soon.

The airline currently has 20 Premium Economy-equipped aircraft, 13 of which were upgraded by Emirates’ team in Dubai over the past nine months. Since August 2022, the Gulf carrier has flown around 4,500 Premium Economy flights, covering more than 36 million kilometers around the world. Premium Economy menus are updated every month to ensure diversity of flavors and dishes, especially for customers who travel constantly.

The introduction of Premium Economy is one of the key components of the airline’s modernization program, which will include the interior refurbishment of 67 Airbus A380 and 53 Boeing 777 cabins. By the end of the program, more than 4,000 Premium Economy seats, plus 700 First Class suites and 5,000 Business Class seats will have been upgraded with the latest interiors.
