As stated in a brief statement published on their Linkedin account, sales for codeshared flights between the United States and Peru have begun, thus expanding the network that already includes routes in Chile.

JetSMART Airlines CEO, Estuardo Ortiz, said «from the beginning, we have innovated in the sector, with ultra-low fares and new routes. Today, we take another step in our revolution by making history with the launch of a partnership between JetSMART and American Airlines, creating new opportunities to travel between Peru and the United States.

«Along with this, our customers will be able to accumulate miles and fly on the JetSMART network and connect to the global network of American Airlines. As the fastest-growing airline in South America, this alliance strengthens us and positions us to achieve our vision of reaching 100 million passengers and 100 aircraft by 2028,» he added.

The routes included in this code-share agreement are:
    • Lima – Arequipa – Lima
    • Lima – Cajamarca – Lima
    • Lima – Chiclayo – Lima
    • Lima – Cuzco – Lima
    • Lima – Piura – Lima
    • Lima – Tarapoto – Lima
    • Lima – Trujillo – Lima
The agreement doesn’t stop at the sale of code-shared travels, as the low-cost airline intends to join the AAdvantage frequent flyer program, which means that they will be able to accumulate miles and redeem rewards on both domestic and international flights on both JetSMART and American Airlines.

    What about Argentina?

According to internal sources, only details are missing for the union of JetSMART Argentina with American Airlines’ code-share agreement. The same would happen with the subsidiary in Colombia, whose launch is progressing well. The company points out that “as we move forward, we hope to expand our route network to Argentina and Colombia, further strengthening our impact in the region. This alliance represents a new era of possibilities for travelers and we are excited to be part of this exciting chapter.”
