Service details
Lufthansa resumes operations on the Munich-Hong Kong route, the airline suspended this service as a result of the health crisis in March 2020. This resumption, which will complement Lufthansa’s existing Frankfurt-Hong Kong connection, will see the German airline boost air connectivity in one of Asia’s most important financial hubs once the pandemic is over.
The airline also returns to Johannesburg from the Bavarian capital from June 4, 2024 with three weekly flights, the last scheduled flight on this route was in 2005. Previously South African Airways flew between these cities but suspended this service due to the pandemic crisis and its financial restructuring. Lufthansa’s South African offering offers year-round non-stop connections from Frankfurt to Johannesburg and Cape Town and a seasonal service between Munich and Cape Town.
By next summer, Lufthansa will fly to 11 destinations from Munich to the United States, the airline is adding to its schedule a new nonstop service between the Bavarian capital and Seattle-Tacoma with daily flights starting May 30, 2024. The new route complements the carrier’s existing daily service between Frankfurt and Seattle.
Lufthansa continues to boost its presence in India, the new Munich-Bangalore route, which will start for this winter with three flights per week, will increase to six times per week by the summer season of 2024. By next year, the airline will have almost two daily flights between Germany and Bangalore.
