New facilities inaugurated at the Monterrey Airport

The Monterrey International Airport celebrated the inauguration of the new facilities in the presence of the Governor of the State of Monterrey, Samuel García; Ricardo Dueñas, CEO of OMA, accompanied by OMA’s management team and special guests.

The building is the product of two years of work providing 1,236 jobs and contemplated the construction of 7,900 square meters. Initial operations began last June. This new lounge is expected to serve Viva Aerobus flights and is equipped with 7 boarding gates in its first phase.

With these facilities, it is estimated that the terminal will serve an additional 1.4 million passengers per year. This new area is part of the Master Plan. This new section is part of the Master Plan for the development of the airport for the period 2021-2025, which includes an investment of 7 billion pesos for this airport alone.

This inauguration is in addition to the West Ambulatory currently in operation, which comprises a construction of 10,000 meters four and its opening was in June 2022. These works will be complemented by the Ambulatorio Oriente, which is under construction and is expected to open in the first half of 2024.

This construction improves the offer of spacious, modern and comfortable spaces for customers and airlines, optimizing service for the more than 12 million passengers of the airport’s three terminals and 13 airlines that currently serve from Monterrey.

Nuevo Leon’s main airport has a network of 53 domestic and international routes, including direct connections to important hubs in the United States such as Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, as well as transatlantic service to Madrid; to Central America there is a route to Panama; this year, the airport received its first service to South America with a direct connection to Bogota; and soon Canada will be added. In the domestic market, Monterrey connects to 37 domestic destinations.
