Star Alliance opened its new VIP lounge at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, France. This marks the alliance’s second lounge in the terminal. Located at the far end of the airport, it can accommodate over 300 guests simultaneously in its expansive 1,300 square meters. The space was meticulously designed by the renowned architectural firm Gensler, the same team behind the waiting lounge at Los Angeles Airport.
Theo Panagiotoulias, CEO of Star Alliance, emphasized, «Star Alliance is always committed to enhancing the travel experience for passengers of its member airlines, and lounges play a pivotal role in this endeavor. Our new lounge in Paris not only offers a delightful experience but is also carefully designed.» Christian Draeger, Vice President of Customer Experience at Star Alliance, echoed his sentiments, «This new lounge brings the total to seven worldwide. With its design, décor, and culinary experience, we have crafted this lounge to provide a multi-sensory experience.»

Thanks to its expansive windows offering breathtaking views of the runway, the lounge is filled with natural light, enhancing the sense of spaciousness. The design also creates an atmosphere inspired by the local essence. To achieve this, local brands and artists collaborated to infuse the space with the renowned French design. The ambiance evokes the timeless aesthetic of Paris, with decorative moldings on the walls, arches, and captivating black and white photographs of the Eiffel Tower. Its furniture was also carefully curated by French artists, promising a unique visual experience.
The place features a welcome bar offering a variety of beverages, a wine bar showcasing wines from southern France, handpicked by the master winemaker Gerard Bertrand, and a tea salon with selections from around the world. Additionally, there are private workstations throughout the lounge. It also boasts a well-lit winter garden and a spacious outdoor patio, along with shower cabins.
The other Star Alliance lounge in Terminal 1 of the airport was renovated in 2019. It will now serve passengers on flights within the Schengen area departing from gates 50 to 78.
