American Airlines increases its flights to Italy

American Airlines for the upcoming summer season is increasing its capacity between the United States and Italy, using larger aircraft on existing services and adding new routes. The airline’s offerings include flights to Rome-Fiumicino, Milan-Malpensa, Venice and Naples from hubs in Philadelphia, New York JFK, Charlotte, Chicago O’Hare and Dallas/Fort Worth.

American will have 11 daily flights and a supply of more than 22,000 seats per month between the U.S. and Italy during peak periods during the summer season.

Service between New York and Rome-Fiumicino resumes the first week of April and adds a second daily flight beginning June 4, both of which will be served by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

The Dallas/Fort Worth – Rome Fiumicino route will become year-round and a second daily flight will be added from May 5 through September 3, all flights will be operated on a combination of Boeing 777-200ER and Boeing 787 aircraft.

American will have a new first-ever route between Philadelphia and Naples operated on Boeing 787-8s and will resume nonstop flights to Chicago O’Hare and Venice that will be operated on Boeing 787-9s. Charlotte – Fiumicino and Philadelphia – Venice services will also be extended.

The offer is completed with daily flights between Philadelphia – Rome Fiumicino, New York JFK – Milan Malpensa and Chicago O’Hare – Rome Fiumicino.
