American Airlines began nonstop flights between Philadelphia and Naples, increasing its offerings to four destinations in Italy, the airline already operates Rome-Fiumicino, Milan-Malpensa and Venice-Marco Polo,
On June 5, flight AA 780 was operated on Boeing 787 registered as N133AN, which took off from Philadelphia International Airport at 20:01 local time and landed at Naples-Capodichino Airport at 10:05 the following day, after eight hours and four minutes.
With American’s arrival, now all three major U.S. carriers operate into Naples, United Airlines has two daily flights from Newark and Delta Air Lines offers a daily operation from New York JFK, both operating Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.
In addition to this new service, American Airlines this summer season is starting new routes such as Dallas/Fort Worth-Barcelona, Philadelphia-Nice, Philadelphia-Copenhagen and resumed Chicago O’Hare-Venice service.

- Philadelphia – Naples Flight AA780 PHL 19:15 – NAP 10:00+1 daily flights.
- Naples – Philadelphia Flight AA781 NAP 12:15 – PHL 16:00 daily flights.
Flights will be operated on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft with 234 seats: 20 in Business Class, 28 in Premium Economy, 48 Main Extra Cabin and 138 in Economy. Customers can also access the airline’s extensive domestic route network from Philadelphia.
American Airlines’ European network in Philadelphia also includes service to Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Dublin, Rome-Fiumicino, London-Heathrow, Lisbon, Madrid, Nice, Venice and Zurich.
