Lufthansa suspends flights to Bahrain and Kuwait

Due to the conflict between Hamas and Hezbollah, which has caused a drop in demand in the Middle East region, Lufthansa has modified its scheduling in the area and the airline now avoids flying over Iranian and Iraqi airspace.

As of September 16, 2024, Lufthansa will suspend its services to Kuwait (operated with a stopover in Dammam) and Bahrain (operated with a stopover in Riyadh). On the same date, the airline will modify its operation in Saudi Arabia by operating Frankfurt – Riyadh -Dammam.

From September 16, 2024.

  • Flight LH 622: FRA 13:10 – 19: 55 RUH 20:45 – 21:45 DMM daily flights.
  • Flight LH 623: DMM 23:55 – 01:05+1 RUH 01:55+1 – 07:20+1 DMM daily flights.

Route data

  • From March 2025, the service will be reduced from 7 to 5 weekly flights.

The route will be operated on Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a capacity of 255 passengers in three classes: 42 Business Class, 28 Premium Economy, and 185 in Economy.

Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, and SWISS have suspended services to Tel Aviv, Tehran, Beirut, Amman, and Erbil in the face of regional tensions.
