Embraer completed the implementation of the ONEChain program, an integrated digital tool designed to optimize its supply chain. The initiative comes amidst global challenges in the industry that have affected aircraft production and delivery, particularly due to shortages of engines and key structural components.

ONEChain aims to simplify and digitize supply chain processes, improving transparency, agility, and collaboration with suppliers. According to Embraer, this platform will enable cost reduction, process standardization, and increased productivity.

“With the integration of all operations into a single platform, it is now possible to manage our supply chain in real-time”, said Roberto Chaves, Executive Vice President of Global Procurement and Supply Chain at Embraer. “This helps us address current challenges, such as engine availability, ensuring more consistent production and agile decision-making”.

The aerospace industry faces global disruptions, and Embraer is no exception. Engine shortages, especially the Pratt & Whitney PW1000G, have impacted the production of its E-Jet E2 aircraft family. These difficulties have led Embraer to reduce its commercial delivery forecast for 2024, adjusting it from 80 to 73 units.

However, the company has implemented strategies to mitigate these issues, such as increasing inventories and efficiency programs. In April of this year, CEO Francisco Gomes Neto noted improvements in supply, although he acknowledged that some challenges persist.

Despite the difficulties, ONEChain has received international recognition. At the Procurement Success Summit (PSS) in China, the platform won awards for Process Innovation and Procurement Ecosystem, highlighting its potential to set a new standard in digital transformation and supplier collaboration.

The platform is already operational in Brazil, the United States, China, Singapore, and several European countries, such as France, the Netherlands, and Portugal, strengthening Embraer’s global network.
