Aerus expands U.S. operations with flights to Laredo and six planned routes
Aerus continues its expansion in the United States with the launch of flights connecting Monterrey and Laredo. The airline, operating in northeastern Mexico, aims to enhance connectivity with six planned routes to Texas and nearby regions
Aerus, a regional airline from southeastern Mexico, has launched its new flight route to the border city of Laredo (LRD), United States, connecting it with Monterrey (MTY). This move opens new opportunities for connectivity between Mexico and the U.S.
Laredo becomes Aerus’ second destination in the United States, following the launch of Brownsville in October 2024. The airline had secured permission to operate in the U.S. in early 2023. According to documentation submitted to the Department of Transportation (DoT), Aerus plans to establish six routes between Mexico and the U.S.
The DoT approved routes connecting Monterrey with Brownsville (BRO), Corpus Christi (CRP), Laredo (LRD), McAllen (MFE), and flights from Tampico (TAM) to Brownsville and McAllen, with most destinations located near the U.S.-Mexico border.
“With the launch of direct flights between Monterrey and Laredo, we are excited to connect these cities, which share significant commercial ties. This new route reflects our commitment to providing safe, comfortable, and reliable travel while supporting the economic, tourist, and cultural development of the regions we serve,” said Javier Herrera García, CEO of Aerus.
- Flight ZV 32 MTY 08:55 - 10:00 LRD / Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
- Flight ZV 31 LRD 10:40 - 11:45 MTY / Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Javier Herrera highlighted, “We have a base fare of $100 for one-way trips from Monterrey to Laredo, with round-trip fares ranging from $200 to $250.”
Ricardo Dueñas Espriu, CEO of OMA, noted that this new route reinforces Monterrey Airport’s role as a strategic hub in northern Mexico, offering connections to six destinations in Texas and a total of 18 in the United States.
