Alaska Airlines boosts its connectivity in Mexico’s Pacific region with the launch of its nonstop service between New York-JFK and Puerto Vallarta, becoming the only airline to operate this route. This marks the company’s sole connection between the East Coast of the U.S. and the second-largest city in Jalisco.
The inaugural flight, AS 702, was operated with a Boeing 737 registered as N938AK. It departed from John F. Kennedy International Airport at 1:48 PM local time and landed at Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport at 7:24 PM, following a flight of five hours and 54 minutes.
The New York metropolitan area is a major source of international travelers, with residents having an average per capita income of $75,000 annually. This new connection is expected to boost tourism and commerce in Puerto Vallarta and improve East Coast access to Mexico’s Pacific region.
