Avianca has launched a new website that provides an intuitive and personalized experience for passengers with disabilities. This platform offers clear and detailed information, allowing users to plan their trips with confidence and ease. Among its features are:
• Guides organized by topics: Passengers can quickly access specific information about medical and accessibility-related topics.
• Sections by type of disability: The page includes tailored information for people with visual, auditory, physical, intellectual, and psychosocial disabilities, offering recommendations for each stage of the travel process.
“This website represents a step forward in our commitment to eliminating barriers. We aim to make travel easier for our passengers with disabilities by providing them with tools to plan their journey with confidence and ease.,” said Michael Swiatek, Chief Accessibility Officer at Abra.
Avianca complements this digital initiative with additional measures to enhance accessibility:
• Improved signage: The airline has updated signage on 38 aircraft, incorporating higher contrast, Braille numbering, and elements that facilitate passenger orientation.
• Service guides for airport staff: Manuals have been developed with specific recommendations to better assist passengers with diverse disabilities.
