Boeing Research & Technology appoints Eduardo Carrillo de Albornoz as General Manager for Europe and Brazil
Boeing announced the appointment of Eduardo Carrillo de Albornoz as General Manager of Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) for Europe and Brazil. With over 25 years of experience, he will lead key innovation efforts, overseeing operations in Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Brazil
Boeing named Eduardo Carrillo de Albornoz as General Manager of Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) for Europe and Brazil. In this role, he will oversee technological research operations in Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Brazil. He will also coordinate efforts with internal and external teams to address the main challenges of the aviation sector, according to a company statement.
José Enrique Román, Vice President of Global Technology at Boeing Research & Technology, emphasized Carrillo de Albornoz's pivotal role in fostering innovation. “His experience and strategic vision will be essential to driving innovation in areas such as digital engineering, avionics systems, data-driven airline services, autonomous systems integration, and advanced manufacturing technologies,” Román commented.
With over 25 years of experience in the aerospace sector, Carrillo de Albornoz played a key role in creating the Boeing Brazil Engineering and Technology Center and held leadership positions at BR&T-Europe. Before joining Boeing, he worked as a consultant for civil aviation organizations, airports, and airlines, delivering high-impact projects.
Upon assuming his new role, Carrillo de Albornoz stated, “It's an honor for me to take on the role of General Manager of Boeing Research & Technology for Europe and Brazil. I look forward to collaborating with our teams and partners on research initiatives that will make the aviation sector safer, more efficient, and more sustainable.”
Based in Madrid, BR&T-Europe was Boeing’s first research center established outside the United States. Since its founding in 2002, the center has collaborated with European partners to develop advanced technologies that enhance competitiveness and innovation in the aerospace sector.
Boeing has operated in Spain for more than 90 years, supplying commercial and military aircraft and systems for the Spanish Armed Forces. In this context, BR&T-Europe has become a strategic hub for developing key technologies for the company.
