China Eastern Airlines Expands Codeshare Agreement with Air France to Central and South America
The collaboration between China Eastern and Air France will provide passengers with greater convenience and access to new destinations, enhancing air connectivity between Asia and Latin America.
China Eastern Airlines has expanded its codeshare agreement with Air France to include routes in Central and South America, effective from late January 2025. The initiative aligns with China Eastern’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the region and offer passengers more connectivity options.
In January 2024, the airline had already announced a codeshare agreement with Virgin Atlantic, aimed at enhancing commercial and leisure travel connections to East Asia, Mainland China, Africa, and the Caribbean.
New Routes Under the Agreement
Under this expanded partnership, China Eastern flights (code "MU") will now be included on three routes operated by Air France from Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG):
- Paris – Panama City
- Paris – Rio de Janeiro (Galeão)
- Paris – São Paulo (Guarulhos)
According to Aeroin, our partner media outlet, this collaboration will allow China Eastern passengers to access these destinations with benefits such as integrated booking and a seamless check-in process. The agreement also reinforces China Eastern’s position in the Latin American market, a region of growing significance for both tourism and international business.
