Discover the air routes debuting in Latin America and the Caribbean this month
Airlines expand their network in Latin America and the Caribbean with new international and domestic routes in January, connecting key destinations such as Rosario, Punta Cana, São Paulo, Tulum, and more.
As 2025 starts, the activity in Latin America is set to expand with new routes, despite some network reductions that were expected, such as Mexicana's retreat from domestic market after the accord with TAR failed.
In Argentina connectivity is expanding with a new point-to-point international route between Rosario and Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), operated by Aerolíneas Argentinas. This complements its services from Buenos Aires-Ezeiza and Córdoba, as well as Tucumán.
In the domestic segment, JetSMART is launching a nonstop service between Buenos Aires-Aeroparque and Comodoro Rivadavia, competing on this route with Aerolíneas Argentinas and Flybondi.
In Brazil, Delta Air Lines adds a seasonal service between Boston and São Paulo-Guarulhos in the international segment, also operated by its joint venture partner, LATAM Airlines. In the domestic market, Azul Linhas Aéreas is inaugurating a nonstop connection between São Paulo-Guarulhos and Caldas Novas, being the only airline operating this route.
In Mexico, U.S. airlines are expanding their offerings to sun-and-beach destinations. Alaska Airlines is increasing its presence in the Mexican Pacific with a new route between New York JFK and Puerto Vallarta, establishing the only direct link between these destinations. In the Mexican Caribbean, Delta Air Lines scheduled a nonstop service between Detroit and Tulum in partnership with its joint venture partner, Aeroméxico. Both airlines aim to promote tourism in the region with the launch of these new connections.
In the Caribbean, Sunrise Airways launched a service between Curaçao and Port-au-Prince (Haiti). Meanwhile, Sun Country Airlines announced a second seasonal service to Montego Bay, with flights from Milwaukee complementing its connection from Minneapolis/St. Paul.
