"All of Antioquia shares in the grief of their families; we stand with them and hope that God grants them peace in this difficult time. As soon as we learned of the emergency, we mobilized all available human and technical resources in the hope of finding them alive," stated the official on Twitter. He also noted that the Department of Risk Management of Antioquia and the Colombian Air Force will continue operations in the area to recover the bodies.

Aerocivil reported that the Accident Investigation Directorate will "immediately begin the necessary procedures to support the victims' families and will initiate inquiries to determine the causes of this incident."

The Cessna 402 was flying between Juradó (JUR) and Medellín’s Olaya Herrera Airport when, at 5:43 PM, air traffic controllers lost contact with it. Search and rescue protocols were activated, but the operation was suspended overnight due to darkness and adverse weather conditions in the area.

By Thursday morning, the search area had been narrowed to 40 km² based on signals detected from the aircraft’s Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT). In the afternoon, a helicopter spotted wreckage corresponding to the crashed aircraft.
