Finnair Expands Codeshare with American Airlines to 12 Mexican Destinations
Finnair and American Airlines have expanded their codeshare agreement, offering travelers access to 12 Mexican destinations via Dallas/Fort Worth. The enhanced partnership includes Finnair’s Airbus A350-900 flights to the Oneworld hub, set to increase for the summer 2025 season
Finnair and its partner American Airlines have expanded their codeshare partnership, providing access to twelve Mexican destinations. The collaboration offers American Airlines flights from its main hub in Dallas/Fort Worth to the airports of Guanajuato, Monterrey, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Cancún, Cozumel, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Mérida, Oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta, Querétaro, and San José del Cabo.
Dallas/Fort Worth is a key Oneworld hub and an important destination for Finnair. The Finnish airline will operate daily flights to Dallas/Fort Worth, and for the summer 2025 season, it will increase to eleven weekly flights, all operated with Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
"This partnership expands travel options for our customers to Mexico, a popular destination for tourists from Finland and northern Europe, especially in winter. In addition to Mexico, American Airlines offers our customers excellent connections through Dallas to other places in the United States and the Americas," said Fredrik Wildtgrube, Senior Vice President of Airline Partnerships and Alliances at Finnair.
These codeshare destinations build on the shared route network with American Airlines, a key partner in the Atlantic joint venture.
"We are delighted to offer Finnair customers easier access to popular destinations in Mexico. The expansion will provide customers with more convenient connections across American’s expansive network from Mexico to Finland and beyond," said Anmol Bhargava, Vice President of Partnerships at American Airlines.
