Indra strengthens its presence in the air traffic management sector in the Asia-Pacific region following the awarding of a key contract in Indonesia. The country's air navigation service provider has entrusted Indra's ManagAir solution to renew the air traffic management system at the Jakarta Control Center, one of Indonesia’s two main centers.
The new system, which will replace the current one, will enable Indonesia to manage flights in over half of its airspace, improving operational efficiency through the use of 4D trajectories, Indra highlighted in a statement. These trajectories provide more precise and efficient routes, optimizing air traffic flow and also contributing to sustainability by reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
According to Indra, this advancement represents a significant step towards the digitalization of air traffic. Additionally, the company will implement its GAREX voice-over-IP communication system, which will improve communications between controllers, pilots, and other aviation sector stakeholders. "With this fully digitalized technology, we ensure the highest sound quality and safety levels," emphasized Indra.

Indra also has a presence in other key countries in the region, such as India, Vietnam, China, South Korea, Thailand, Mongolia, and the Philippines, where its advanced solutions are already operational. In total, the company has equipped over 11,000 air traffic facilities globally, consolidating itself as a key player in the management of air traffic safety and efficiency worldwide.
