In a new update to the reservation system, it has been observed that JetBlue will expand its presence in Europe from Boston (BOS), Massachusetts, as it continues to receive more Airbus A321neo (LR) aircraft. The company will add twelve routes with this model for the northern hemisphere summer season of 2025.
According to JetBlue’s website, the company will enter Spain with a connection to Madrid (MAD), directly competing with Iberia’s A321neo (XLR), which entered service on November 14. Additionally, it will also connect Boston with Edinburgh (EDI) daily.
The new Boston-Madrid route, with a flight duration of 7 hours and 10 minutes, will start on May 22, 2025, and will run until October 24, 2025. It will feature one daily flight, offering 1,932 seats per week.
- Flight B6 2261 BOS 22:29 – 11:30 (+1) MAD / daily.
- Flight B6 2260 MAD 13:30 – 15:32 BOS / daily.
JetBlue’s A321neo (LR) aircraft are configured for 138 passengers, divided into 24 Mint Suite seats, 24 Even More Space (Premium Economy) seats, and 90 Economy seats. The company has eleven aircraft and is set to receive two more LR units in 2025.
The company will face competition from Iberia, which during the summer season will offer twelve weekly flights. Iberia’s A321neo aircraft are configured for 182 passengers, with 14 seats in Business Class and 168 in Economy.
Twelve JetBlue A321neo routes to Europe
With these two new connections, JetBlue will operate twelve routes to Europe with the A321LR, from New York (JFK) and Boston. Currently, it serves Amsterdam, Dublin, Edinburgh, London, Paris/Charles de Gaulle, and now adds Madrid. The airline also has reserved slots to connect New York with Lisbon.
According to the Cirium platform, the company will operate the following route schedule to Europe:
- From Boston
- Amsterdam (AMS), daily, starts March 30, 2025.
- Dublin (DUB), daily, starts April 17 and runs until September 29, 2025.
- Edinburgh (EDI), daily, starts May 22 and runs until October 24, 2025.
- Madrid (MAD), daily, starts May 22 and runs until October 24, 2025.
- Paris/Charles de Gaulle (CDG), daily, year-round.
- London/Gatwick (LGW), daily, from June 12 to September 30, 2025.
- London/Heathrow (LHR), daily, year-round.
- From New York
- Amsterdam, daily, year-round.
- Dublin, daily, starts April 17 and runs until September 29, 2025.
- Edinburgh, daily, starts May 22 and runs until September 29, 2025.
- London/Heathrow, double daily, year-round.
- Paris/Charles de Gaulle (CDG), daily, year-round.
Dublin, Edinburgh, and some London flights are operated with the base version of the A321neo, configured for 160 passengers, including a Mint Suite class with 16 seats.
Finally, JetBlue is set to receive fourteen A321 XLR aircraft between 2025 and 2033, which will enable it to expand its European destination network, potentially reaching Italy, Croatia, and even Greece.
