LATAM expects to end the year with more than 85% recovery of the 2019 operating level
Through a press release, LATAM Group reported that it expects to end this year with the recovery of more than 85% of the operating levels of 2019. In September, the company expects to reach 81% of the level reported in the same month of the last year before the start of the pandemic.
As stated in the text, the company will operate around 1.290 scheduled passenger flights per day during September 2022. On the other hand, it scheduled more than 1.270 cargo flights in the month.
The company reported that passenger traffic, measured in revenue per passenger and kilometer (RPK), reached 80.9% in August of this year compared to the same month in 2019. LATAM’s capacity, measured in available seats per kilometre (ASK), was 81.8% compared to August 2019.
On the other hand, the occupancy rate for cargo services (a segment that is currently experiencing a generalised boom) reached 55.8% in August, an increase of 1.3 percentage points compared to the same month of 2019.

- Brazil: 89% of the operation recorded in September 2019. It already reached that figure in August, so it expects to maintain the same level. The projection estimates domestic operations values of 103% compared to the same month of 2019 and 72% in international services. It will offer connections to 54 destinations in the country and to 20 international destinations.
- Chile: 70% of the operation recorded in September 2019. In August, it had reached 69% recovery. The projection estimates domestic operations values of 74% compared to the same month of 2019 and 68% in international services. It will offer connections to 16 destinations in the country and to 25 international destinations.
- Colombia: 115% of the operation recorded in September 2019. It already reached 109% during August. The projection estimates domestic operations values of 138% compared to the same month of 2019 and 88% in international services. It will offer connections to 17 destinations in the country and to 5 international destinations.
- Ecuador: 55% of the operation recorded in September 2019. It reached 51% recovery in August. The projection estimates domestic operations values of 132% compared to the same month of 2019 and 31% in international services. It will offer connections to 8 destinations in the country and to 3 international destinations.
- Peru: 79% of the operation recorded in September 2019. In August, it reached 78% recovery. The projection estimates domestic operations values of 91% compared to the same month of 2019 and 74% in international services. It will offer connections to 19 destinations in the country and to 26 international destinations.
- Cargo: LATAM expects to reach 96% of the total level of operations recorded in September 2019. Merchandise transported in the cargo hold (lower deck) of aircraft carrying passengers (belly cargo) will reach 68% recovery on domestic services and 79% on international connections. Moreover, the company projects a dedicated cargo transport, carried out with its own freighter aircraft, of 153% of the September 2019 level.
