Lufthansa Group Achieves 25.3% Female Representation in Senior Leadership, Meeting IATA’s '25by2025' Goal
Lufthansa Group has successfully reached 25.3% female representation in senior leadership across its three top management levels, achieving the target set by IATA’s "25by2025" initiative.
Launched six years ago, "25by2025" aims to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the aviation industry, with over 200 companies committed to this goal.
Lufthansa’s Commitment to Gender Equality
Michael Niggemann, Executive Board Member at Deutsche Lufthansa AG, responsible for Human Resources and Legal Affairs, highlighted the milestone:
"We are pleased to have increased female representation in leadership beyond 25%. However, we recognize that there is still progress to be made. While change takes time, it is both essential and necessary. Our goal remains a sustainable development without gender discrimination."
Expanding Female Leadership in Technology and Beyond
Niggemann also emphasized the growth of female leadership in technology and reaffirmed Lufthansa Group’s commitment to advancing women in leadership roles:
"We will continue driving development programs and establishing guidelines to ensure greater visibility for female candidates in recruitment processes. We want—and will—leverage the full potential of future generations of leaders."
