Porter Airlines and Brightline have joined forces to provide seamless travel options for winter 2025. Passengers will benefit from a 50% discount on SMART fares for Brightline’s rail services, connecting major Florida airports and attractions
Porter Airlines and Brightline partner to offer combined services for winter 2025. With this agreement, customers of the Canadian airline will enjoy a 50% discount on SMART fares, the standard price for rail services between South Florida and Orlando.
The connections Porter Airlines maintains between Canada and Florida include 126 weekly flights departing from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), Montreal-Trudeau (YUL), Ottawa (YOW), and Halifax Stanfield (YHZ). These flights serve four destinations in the Sunshine State: Orlando (MCO), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), West Palm Beach (PBI), and Miami (MIA). Each of these airports features Brightline stations, offering seamless integration from plane to train.
Brightline’s Chief Commercial Officer, Travis Christ, emphasized the importance of the partnership: “Florida is one of the favorite destinations for travelers from Canada, especially starting in December, when many winter residents head to Central and South Florida to escape the cold. We welcome this partnership with Porter Airlines and VISIT FLORIDA to easily connect regions across Central and South Florida this season.”
Edmond Eldebs, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Porter Airlines, added, “Florida is a very popular destination among our passengers, and this partnership makes it even easier for them to explore the Sunshine State. Our direct flights, combined with Brightline’s extensive network, give travelers the opportunity to visit multiple regions by arriving at one airport and departing from another.”
Brightline expanded its service to Orlando in September 2023, connecting thousands of passengers daily between the “Theme Park Capital of the World” and Miami. The intercity rail service includes stops in West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Aventura, and Miami, facilitating travel between Orlando International Airport and key urban centers with numerous attractions.
Additionally, Brightline features stations near cruise ports such as PortMiami, Port Everglades, and the Port of Palm Beach, enhancing connectivity for cruise passengers. To strengthen its offerings, the rail operator recently doubled its Airport Connector Shuttles service, linking Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport with Brightline stations.
