Record December for Airbus: Over 120 Aircraft Delivered to 44 Customers
Airbus closed 2024 with 766 aircraft deliveries, surpassing its previous year's total despite supply chain disruptions caused by Pratt & Whitney engines. The company marked several milestones, including the debut of the A321XLR and record-breaking December deliveries to 44 customers worldwide
Airbus presented its order and delivery statistics for 2024, an especially challenging year for the aviation industry and particularly for aircraft manufacturers, who faced delays in their delivery schedules for various reasons. For Airbus, the most significant obstacle was the supply chain disruptions caused by Pratt & Whitney engines, which grounded hundreds of aircraft due to manufacturing issues.
Despite these challenges, Airbus achieved its goal of surpassing the number of deliveries made in 2023 (735), reaching a total of 766 deliveries. In December 2024 alone, the European manufacturer delivered more than 100 aircraft to 44 customers.
Christian Scherer, CEO of Commercial Aircraft at Airbus, stated: “2024 has confirmed the sustained demand for new aircraft. We won key decisions with major customers and saw phenomenal momentum in our widebody order book, complementing our leadership position in the single-aisle market. Regarding deliveries, we stayed on track and celebrated several historic firsts, including the first A321XLR, as well as initial deliveries of A330neo and A350 aircraft to various customers worldwide.”
“Given the complex and rapidly changing environment in which we continue to operate, we consider 2024 a good year. It was a tremendous team effort to achieve this result. Many thanks to the Airbus team for doing what they do every day for our customers. And many thanks to our customers for continuing to place their trust in us and growing our partnerships worldwide,” he added.
The company announced that its 2024 financial results will be revealed on February 20.
