The Cessna Citation 560 Ultra (registration LV-KFB), acquired for medical transport under the administration of Arabela Carreras in Río Negro, has been sold to Aerovida S.A.. The purchase agreement includes a payment structure based on medical flight services, to be provided according to the needs of the Ministry of Health and the IPROSS social security system.
The deal was valued at $2.6 million, payable through medical flights at a rate of $5.6 per kilometer. Additionally, the transaction included a $50,000 payment for a Piper PA-23 Aztec aircraft, located at San Fernando International Airport in Buenos Aires.
The agreement, signed on January 17, was formalized by Nelson Cides, Secretary General of the Government of Río Negro, on behalf of the province, while Daniel Cassano, president of Aerovida S.A. and representative of Hangar Uno, signed on behalf of the company.
The contract was published in the Official Gazette shortly after concerns were raised by MD FLY S.A. and a senator filed a complaint alleging irregularities in the transaction. Under the agreement, Aerovida S.A. must provide on-demand medical flights for Río Negro’s healthcare system, ensuring specific response times and specialized medical equipment.
Service Commitments and Aircraft Utilization
The contract stipulates that Aerovida S.A. will be responsible for flights to various locations across Río Negro, including remote areas unsuitable for jet operations such as Sierra Grande, Villa Regina, Allen, and Choele Choel. For these destinations, the company will utilize its Beechcraft Super King Air 200.
The agreement outlines strict technical and administrative requirements, including:
- Availability of an aeromedical stretcher
- Advanced life support equipment
- Certified compliance with aviation regulations (e.g., Air Service Operation Certificate – CETA)
- Capability for both daytime and nighttime operations
Aerovida S.A. must guarantee that flights will be available within a maximum of two hours from request and that medical transport flights will be completed within 12 hours.

- Multiparameter monitor for cardiac, respiratory, pulse oximetry, and blood pressure monitoring (both invasive and non-invasive)
- Trauma bag and inflatable splints
- Airway management kit and severe burns kit
- Electrocardiograph and infusion pumps

Contract Termination & Obligations
The province reserves the right to terminate the contract if Aerovida S.A. fails to meet its obligations. In the event of contract annulment, the outstanding balance will be charged up to the termination date.
Aerovida S.A. is responsible for all operational costs, including:
- Crew and onboard medical personnel
- Aircraft maintenance and insurance
- Flight protection fees and other regulatory expenses
Additionally, the company must submit monthly service reports, including flight logs signed by technical and medical crews, operational data, and total kilometers flown.
