TAR Aerolíneas will increase frequencies on three routes in San Luis Potosí
TAR will offer up to 6,300 seats per week in San Luis Potosí.
The Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA) has announced that TAR Aerolíneas will increase its flight frequencies in San Luis Potosí (SLP) starting March 17.
Since February 24, the airline has been operating routes to Monterrey (MTY) and Querétaro (QRO) with four weekly flights. These routes will now expand to daily service, adding to the airline’s existing daily flights to Puerto Vallarta (PVR).
The routes will be operated with Embraer ERJ 145 aircraft, which have a capacity of 50 passengers, allowing for a total of 6,300 weekly seats at San Luis Potosí’s airport.
Present in San Luis Potosí since 2016, TAR Aerolíneas has introduced new routes, with Puerto Vallarta standing out as one of the most in-demand destinations. The airline stated that expanding flight frequencies "enhances the state's connectivity and reinforces its significance in the aviation sector."
Meanwhile, OMA CEO Ricardo Dueñas emphasized that the expansion of routes "strengthens connectivity and provides more options for passengers."
OMA also reported that in 2023, San Luis Potosí Airport saw a 2.5% increase in passenger traffic, reaching 736,000 travelers. This growth was largely driven by a 12.5% rise in international flights.
The expansion of services to Monterrey and Querétaro aims to strengthen regional connectivity and support key sectors such as the automotive and manufacturing industries.
