Carrasco International Airport, Uruguay’s main air terminal, has been awarded the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award as the best airport in Latin America and the Caribbean in the category of terminals handling up to 2 million passengers annually.
The award was presented by the Airports Council International (ACI), a global organization that evaluates service quality and passenger experience at airports worldwide.
A Recognition Based on Passenger Experience
The ASQ Award is based on real-time surveys of over 700,000 international passengers, making it the most rigorous and comprehensive benchmarking program in the airport industry.
Federico Cabrera, Operations and Experience Manager at Aeropuertos Uruguay, expressed his pride in receiving the award: "This recognition comes directly from passenger feedback and highlights the dedication of our entire team to providing the best possible experience."
Cabrera also emphasized that the achievement is shared by the entire airport community, including public agencies, airlines, concessionaires, and service providers, all of whom contribute daily to enhancing the passenger journey.
Global Praise for Carrasco Airport
Justin Erbacci, Director General of ACI World, congratulated the Carrasco Airport team, stating: "Your airport ranks among the best in the world for passenger experience, as chosen by travelers themselves. Keep raising the bar!"
This marks the second time Carrasco International Airport has received this distinction, the first being in 2019, further solidifying its position as a regional leader in service excellence.
"This recognition motivates us to continue prioritizing passenger experience and underscores the value of collaboration across the entire airport ecosystem," added Cabrera.
Award Ceremony in China
The official award ceremony will take place on September 10, 2025, during the ACI Annual Airport Experience Summit in Guangzhou, China, from September 8 to 11.
