Aerolíneas Argentinas Will Resume Operations With 40 Weekly Flights

Although the industry will have to wait until the publication of the new decree that extends the quarantine in Argentine territory until October 24 to confirm whether or not regular flights will resume on October 12 (or 15) as the minister of Transport, Mario Meoni, has been ensuring, various sectors are preparing in case this actually happens.

In this sense, it has been reported a possible schedule for Aerolineas Argentinas on its domestic routes as of Monday October 19.

This shows, at least in frequencies (since we do not have the information of the equipment that would be used), an operation at 5% compared to the prepandemic levels for October, and 13% for the first half of November.

Buenos Aires – Córdoba, the country’s busiest domestic route, which had more than 30 daily flights, would start with four weekly flights between October 19 and 25, and then it will increase to a daily flight from October 26 to November 1st, and it will reach two daily flights as of November 15.

Between the provincial capitals, Paraná, Santa Rosa and Viedma would only receive flights again from November.

Interprovincial flights would also have a timid start only in November on just four routes, with a weekly flight each (prepandemic there were around 100 weelky flights).

All this would be subject, in addition, to the respective provincial governments authorizing regular commercial operations.
