The company said that due to the many travel restrictions in various countries, as a result of the pandemic, its network may present changes to comply with government regulations and adapt to the demand.

    New rules

In addition to allowing the resumption of flights leaving from Brazil, which had been suspended for ten days, the French government also announced a new entry or connection policy to the country with the aim of containing the spread of the COVID virus in its territory.

Passengers with France as their final destination must present one of the following alternatives:

    • A negative PCR test performed within 36 hours of departure; or

    • A negative PCR test performed within 72 hours of departure + an antigen test performed no more than 24 hours prior to departure

Additionally, passengers must take another antigen test upon arrival in Paris and remain in quarantine for 10 days. This applies to any destination in France.

In accordance with the measures imposed by the local government, only essential trips for the country are authorized. To do this, clients must justify their trip by providing proof and address, as well as a travel certificate and health declaration that can be downloaded from the website of the French Ministry of the Interior.

To travel to the country it is still necessary to meet the criteria established by the government, such as, for example, being a French citizen or permanent resident in France; be a citizen and permanent resident of a Schengen country; being medical, maritime or air crew in service, among some other conditions.

    Connections

For customers connecting to international destinations, the rules for COVID testing are the same: a negative PCR test performed up to 36 hours before departure or a negative PCR test performed up to 72 hours hours prior to shipment + an antigen test performed no more than 24 hours prior to shipment. Antigen is not required on arrival in Paris.

It is important to emphasize that the rules and conditions of each destination country must be observed and followed additionally. Only passengers who meet the requirements of the country of final destination will be able to make a connection in France.

Due to the constant changes caused by the covid-19 pandemic, Air France advises customers to consult, both at the time of purchase and in the days prior to their trip, the company’s website, Travel.doc, the French Government and final destination website to update the latest entry conditions.
