Eastern Airlines made modifications to its reservation system, suspending operations to Santo Domingo from Boston and Miami. Flights to Dominican Republic capital city were scheduled from May 27th, with 9 weekly frequencies taking into account both routes.

As a result of demand, the airline canceled operations between United States and Santo Domingo. Eastern Airlines was interested in Santo Domingo starting with Boston and Miami, but the competitiveness on routes between United States and Dominican Republic caused this suspensions.

Santo Domingo joins Sarajevo to Eastern’s list of canceled destinations in the recent weeks. At the moment Montevideo and Belo Horizonte continue on the airline’s schedule from June.

Previously Eastern planned to start Boston – Mexico City, Los Angeles – Guayaquil, Miami – Buenos Aires, Miami – Santa Cruz de la Sierra and New York – Anchorage, but all these routes were canceled.

The airline has 15 aircrafts in its fleet, taking into account Boeing 747, Boeing 767-200s, Boeing 767-300s and Boeing 777-200(ER)s:
