The Mexican ultra low cost announced the return to Austin (AUS) in the United States, after twelve years of absence. This time from Mexico City (MEX) and Monterrey (MTY).
According to the company, demand between the United States and Mexico has increased, prompting the need to expand the supply of flights between the two countries. In fact, according to OAG, the seat offer in May increased by 9% compared to 2019 and 13.3% compared to April 2021.
«This exciting announcement of a new international service for Austin is great news for business and leisure travelers,» said Gina Fiandaca, representative of the city of Austin.

Viva Aerobus will temporarily connect Mexico City and Austin between June 20 and October 25 with two weekly flights. Tickets are on sale now with one-way fares starting at $ 89, including taxes.
On the other hand, between Monterrey and Austin it will operate all year round from June 19 with two weekly services. For this route, the airline offers one-way fares starting at USD 99, including taxes.

Travelers on both routes will be able to connect to more than 30 destinations in both Monterrey and Mexico City. In addition, Viva offers travelers the possibility of connecting by land to more than 100 destinations with preferential rates. Since Viva belongs to the IAMSA Group, Mexico’s multimodal transport group (land + air transport) where travelers can take advantage of discounts up to 50% in the most recognized Mexican bus companies.

The flights will be operated on the Airbus A320ceos and Airbus A320neos with capacity for 180 and 186 passengers, giving each route an offer of 720 weekly seats.
The company inaugurated several routes to the United States in May: San Antonio to León / Guanajuato; Harlingen to Monterrey with four weekly flights; Houston / Intercontinental to Leon / Guanajuato; Houston / Intercontinental to Monterrey and Cincinnati to Cancun.
