Given the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, several countries closed their borders as a preventive measure against infections. After more than a year of this situation, the European Union will gradually open its borders to foreigners, including Mexicans among them.
France
From June 9, 2021, all those Mexicans who want to do tourism in this destination will be able to access the country. Mexico is considered by the health authorities as one of the «orange countries», so the following conditions must be met for admission:
- Complete vaccination schedule, this means that they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The vaccines accepted by France are those recognized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA): Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson.
- PCR test for COVID-19 carried out 72 hours before arrival in France, or an antigen test carried out 48 hours in advance.
Aeromexico currently has five weekly flights scheduled between Mexico City and Paris-CDG in Boeing 787-9 aircraft with capacity for 274 passengers, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. For July the schedule of a daily flight is observed, increasing by 40% the offer of seats.
Spain
The Spanish government has removed some of its restrictions and created a list of countries authorized to enter its territory for tourism reasons.
For entry and permanence, a vaccination certificate must be provided verifying that travelers completed the scheme at least 14 days before arrival in Spain. The vaccines accepted by the Spanish government are those authorized by the European Medicines Agency or the World Health Organization.
These new measures came into effect on June 6, 2021. It is important to underline that there will be no need to conduct a quarantine or show additional evidence to visit Spanish territory.
Between Mexico City and Madrid, Aeroméxico scheduled 10 weekly flights in June, which will become 14 during July, which represents a 40% increase in the offer of seats.
The company will also carry five to seven weekly flights that connect the Mexican capital with Amsterdam. Being both routes are served on Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
