Commercial flights at Arequipa Airport are suspended

The administration of Aeropuertos Andinos del Perú (AAP), Arequipa Airport´s concession company, reported that as a result of Supreme Decree No. 123-2021-PCM that establishes an epidemiological fence in some locations in the region, all commercial flights will be suspended between June 21 and July 5 inclusive.

The decree formally ordered the suspension of transportation services nationwide to and from the department of Arequipa for 15 calendar days from June 21. It applies to air, land and rail transport services and was agreed in the Council of Ministers due to the large increase in Covid-19 cases registered in that department, which forced to categorize in extreme alertness to 6 provinces: Camaná, Caravelí , Castilla, Caylloma, Arequipa and Islay.

From AAP they indicated that passengers and visitors should take the necessary provisions and contact their respective airlines to coordinate rescheduling.

«We will promptly communicate any change or new provision through AAP´s digital communication channels, and we reaffirm our commitment to continue working together with our authorities and the entire Arequipa community for the continuity of our business operations with the compromise of all,» they concluded.
