Transportes Aéreos Regionales (TAR), is at its best since the beginning of the pandemic, having recovered 80% of demand, while in parallel it announced an increase in the offer in 15 of its 18 destinations.
This increase in the number of airline operations is also reflected in its financial conditions. However, the company is still operating at 57% of its capacity, so these conditions could continue to improve, according to the commercial director of TAR, Ángel García Colín, in a report by the Mexican newspaper El Economista.
«This has put us in a solid financial position, breaking sales records,» said the manager.
TAR also reported that flights will increase in 15 of its 18 destinations, adding to this the inauguration of the direct route Querétaro – Puerto Vallarta on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Continuing with Puerto Vallarta, the frequencies have been increased from Aguascalientes with 14 weekly flights and Guadalajara with 16 weekly flights to that town.
The TAR network in July will reach Aguascalientes, Ciudad Juárez, Ciudad del Carmen, Culiacán, Chihuahua, Durango, Guadalajara, Hermosillo, La Paz, Monterrey, Mexicali, Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Tampico, Torreón and Veracruz , offering 54,700 seats on 1,094 scheduled flights, as can be seen in Cirium Schedule. This represents a growth of 27.1% compared to June but still 45% below the same month of 2019.
TAR was able to use a resource that many other regular operators turned to during the pandemic when their operations were drastically affected. And this is the charter flight service which, at the moment, represents 12% of the income of the Queretaro airline, according to El Economista.
Regarding this, its commercial director said that «with charters we can have permissions to fly to the United States, to Havana, to the Caribbean, to Central America. Practically to all the most attractive places to connect them with Querétaro or take them from here.»
The last point is very important for the operational and financial condition of the company, since it goes hand in hand with the summer season and the great increase experienced by the Caribbean and North America region.
TAR operates a fleet of twelve Embraer ERJ-145s with a capacity for 50 passengers and an average age of 21.7 years.
