Collins Aerospace contracted to service U-2 optical sensors

Collins Aerospace will continue to provide maintenance and support for the electro-optical/infrared sensor fleet on the USAF’s U-2 Dragon Lady reconnaissance aircraft.

As reported by the company in its press release, the USAF awarded Collins Aerospace three contracts, jointly valued at $673.8 million, to provide logistics support and maintenance for the modern and sensitive optronics systems on its U-2 Dragon Lady spy planes for 3 years.

“Collins is proud to ensure the U-2 platform’s ongoing mission readiness with reliable and mature ISR assets that support USAF technology insertions, modernization and information dominance initiatives,” said Dave McClure, Vice President and General Manager of ISR & Space Solutions for Collins Aerospace. “These awards continue our 60+ years of unparalleled end-to-end sustainment support for the U-2 and our team’s commitment to the warfighter.”
