The Mexican airline announced that December 15 will be the date for the resumption of its flights between the «Perla Tapatía» and the multicultural «Corner of Latin America», a reference of the border city with the United States.

The route will be operated daily with an offer of 9,000 seats per month on Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

According to the company, Guadalajara is Aeromexico’s second most important hub with 161,600 seats per month.

It currently operates in Chicago (ORD), Fresno (FAT), Los Angeles (LAX), Sacramento (SMF), Salt Lake City (SLC), and San Francisco (SFO) in the United States and Mexico City. As of December 15, flights to Madrid (MAD) in Spain will begin operating three weekly flights.

Thus, the company only needs to resume flights to Monterrey (MTY) and San Jose (SJC) in California to complete the network of destinations that the Jalisco state capital had before the pandemic.

Schedule and Frequencies

From Departure To Arrival
Guadalajara (GDL) 23:00 Tijuana (TIJ) 00:15
Tijuana (TIJ) 01:05 Guadalajara (GDL) 06:00

The route faces fierce competition from Mexico’s two low-cost carriers. Viva Aerobus has 48 weekly A320neo flights (8,928 seats per week) and Volaris offers 74 weekly A320neo and A321 flights (15,958 seats per week).
