Eastern Airlines plans to fly to Belo Horizonte

Eastern Airlines currently has a reduced operations schedule from the United States. Its routes are Miami – Montevideo and New York – Guayaquil, with one and three weekly flights respectively.

In early 2021, the company had more than 10 active routes, with a projection of adding five more between the first and second quarter of the current year. Finally, the airline gradually reduced its network, leaving just the mentioned routes.

Belo Horizonte was announced as one of the destinations to start in March, from Boston, Miami and New York, with the Boeing 767-300(ER). Eastern scheduled a daily flight on all three routes.

The start date was delayed, mainly due to low demand, until the end of September, when the company’s website published the suspension of Belo Horizonte permanently.

According to information published on its site, Eastern Airlines has confirmed the beginning of operations to Belo Horizonte in 2022. Flights will be operated on Boeing 777-200(ER) aircraft.

The airline is scheduled to begin services between Miami and Belo Horizonte on March the 27th, 2022. New York will start on June 8th of the same year.
