Air France announced that it will provide its Business Class customers on long-haul flights with a new comfort kit, made up of 93% recycled materials, as an initiative to reduce the environmental impact of its business.

The new Business Class kit will contain:

  • A toothbrush and pen made from cornstarch and earplugs packed in kraft paper, eliminating the use of plastic;
  • A sleeping mask, socks, toothpaste, and cosmetics from the renowned French brand Clarins.

For their part, passengers traveling in Premium Economy on long-haul flights will receive a kit with:

  • A toothbrush made of cornstarch and earplugs packaged in kraft paper.
  • A sleeping mask and a pair of socks.

Beyond the fact that these measures are closely associated with a special segment, which pays the highest fares on a flight, the French airline’s initiative to continue eliminating single-use plastics from its operations is an important one.

“In all cabins, the plastic packaging of each kit is now replaced by a security seal. In addition, the headsets are systematically cleaned and disinfected, allowing Air France to eliminate the single-use headset protectors and their packaging previously offered,” says a press release from the airline.
