On January 1, 2022, Airbus Atlantic, a global player in the field of aerostructures, was officially constituted. The new company brings together the strengths, resources, and competencies of the Airbus sites in Nantes and Montoir-de-Bretagne, the core functions associated with their activities, as well as the STELIA Aerospace sites around the world.

This unification is part of the transformation project announced in April 2021, which is intended to boost the aero-structure assembly value chain within the Airbus industrial configuration, with this activity being considered as a core business. It marks the intention to gain competitiveness, innovation, and quality for the benefit of Airbus programs now and in the future.

The transformation announced at the time indicated that another structure would contain the Stade And Structure Assembly site in Hamburg and the Premium AEROTEC sites in Nordenham, Bremen, and Augsburg, which is why it comes as no surprise that both the German supply chain and the Cadiz complex in Spain are not part of this launch.

Airbus Atlantic will be an essential element in the group’s value chain and will play a key role with respect to the aerostructures supply chain, with more than 500 direct suppliers (flight products) and more than 2,000 indirect suppliers (general procurement products).

«At the heart of Airbus, Airbus Atlantic aims to meet the major challenges related to a sustainable aerospace industry by pioneering new technologies,» said Cédric Gautier, CEO of Airbus Atlantic. «Our first mission will be to assure the satisfaction of all our customers and to set new standards of excellence in terms of quality and operational efficiency. I have full confidence in the talent, enthusiasm, and commitment of the Airbus Atlantic teams to successfully write this new chapter in our history.»

With a workforce of 13,000 people across 5 countries and 3 continents, and estimated revenue of around €3.5 billion, Airbus Atlantic is ranked number two in the world in aerostructures, number one worldwide in pilot seating, and in the top three in Business and First Class passenger seating, which will continue to be marketed under the STELIA Aerospace brand.
