Canarian Airways plans summer operation and appoints new General Manager

Canarian Airways, the vacation airline founded last year by a group of 14 hotel entrepreneurs from the Canary Islands and One Airways, announced today the launching of new plans with which it seeks to reinvent its offer to adapt it to the demand, as well as the increase of its share capital, and the incorporation of Francisco Rodriguez, founder of TuBillete.com, as General Manager.

In a press release, the company explained that it is currently preparing its program for the upcoming summer season, doubling its ambition to provide a differentiated offer that promotes the Canary Islands, thereby breaking “the static concept of the hotel so as to bring it closer to the demand and not waiting for others to transport tourists, making it easier for Canary Islands residents to travel abroad”.

“I am happy to join a project launched by businessmen from here, from the islands, which was born to improve the connectivity of Tenerife and the Canary Islands, to contribute,” said Francisco Rodriguez.

“I believe that the Archipelago required an aviation force of these characteristics that brings together people who perfectly know the destination and who fight for its sustainability, an innovative project”, he added.

During the peak of the winter season, Canarian Airways operated flights linking Tenerife South with Madrid and Bilbao using an Airbus A319 aircraft with a capacity for 144 passengers.

The company had made its inaugural flight in July 2021 using the name of its parent company, Lattitude Hub, but soon after was forced to suspend operations claiming problems in demand as a result of a new wave of COVID-19 infections. When it resumed operations in November it did so under its original name, Canarian Airways.
