Casa da Moeda do Brasil negotiated a significant amount of remittances with Argentina and will be transported on an Air Class Boeing 727. This is a new shipment of Argentinean 1000 peso banknotes, as it had already happened months ago. The shipment should take place next week.

According to close sources mentioned in our Brazilian partner media, Aeroin, a Boeing 727 was hired especially for such operations, which belongs to the Uruguayan airline Air Class.

Aeroin reports, based on the schedule loaded in the systems of the neighboring country, that the itinerary of the flights will be as follows:

FEBRUARY 14: The aircraft lands in Rio de Janeiro (Galeão) at 12:00, loads, and takes off at 14:00 bound for Ezeiza (flight QCL-7522).

FEBRUARY 17: The plane arrives in Rio at 15h00, loads, and takes off at 16h30 (flight QCL-7522).

First months of the pandemic…

During the first months of the pandemic, Argentina could not cope with the demand to print its own money, so it turned to Brazil to do so through a contract for more than US$ 20 million. At the time, it was expected that 400 million banknotes would be printed and the service would end in March 2021.

However, the contract appears to have been extended. On December 2, 2021, the Casa da Moeda do Brasil signed contract 1002/2021 with the company Fedrigoni Brasil Papéis Ltda. The agreement was for the amount of R$ 91,049,810.33, with the description to follow. “Executive Partnership Agreement (TEP) the approved proposal, under the auspices of Partnership Act N° 001/2020, with the end customer Sociedade Del Estado Casa de Moneda (Argentina) for the production of 600,000 (six hundred thousand) thousand $ 1,000 banknotes”.

According to them, another shipment of 600 million 1,000 peso bills will be prepared and should be ready for shipment next week.
