Chilean low-cost operator SKY signed an agreement with Airbus to obtain FHS-Components Flight Hour Services for its entire A320 Family fleet. This product, part of the Airbus Flight Hour Services offering, will allow SKY to delegate the daily management and servicing of the airline’s components to the manufacturer.

The service includes inventory management at SKY’s main bases in Santiago and Lima. Plus component maintenance and engineering services. The agreement also includes the presence of Airbus FHS representatives in Santiago and Lima, as well as logistics and warehousing.

«This agreement will allow us to have at our disposal, in a quick and timely manner, parts and components needed to execute maintenance tasks on our fleet. This will be in addition to the engineering support we already receive. With this we will continue to efficiently develop our flight operations in both Chile and Peru,» said José Raúl Vargas, Director of Operations of SKY Chile and General Manager of SKY Peru.

«We are very proud that SKY has trusted our FHS-Components service and has signed a long-term agreement with Airbus. SKY will benefit from guaranteed parts availability and secure its operations. On top of having budgetary control,» said Yohan Closs, Airbus Head of Customer Services for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Airbus FHS is enjoying growing success around the world and in Latin America and the Caribbean. This is evidenced by the increase in the number of contracts signed recently. It offers fully integrated component services that help improve the operational reliability and performance of airline fleets while maximizing flight hours.
