The Brazilian Air Force (FAB), under the guidance of the Ministry of Defense and in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), has placed on standby two Embraer KC-390 Millennium aircraft for the possible transport of Brazilian citizens evacuated from Ukraine.

The aircraft are of the same model used in other international humanitarian missions: such as the transport of donations for the victims of the explosion in Beirut, capital of Lebanon, in 2020; and the emergency support to the tragedy caused by the earthquake in Haiti in August 2021.
To safely conduct an eventual air evacuation operation, as happened in Afghanistan after the fall of the country into the hands of the Taliban, a ceasefire agreement will have to be reached and the mobility of third country nationals will have to be allowed. Particularly if they want to use the airports near Kiev or in southern Ukraine, where there is a fierce struggle for their control.
Another option would be to allow ground mobility in properly identified vehicles to airfields in the west of the country, or better yet, to neighboring countries, members of NATO and therefore safe.
