LATAM Brazil resumes routes to Europe and the U.S.

LATAM Airlines has announced the resumption of two destinations in Europe and the United States, from July 2022, the company will fly again to Rome (FCO) and Boston (BOS), air tickets to these routes will be on sale in the coming days through the airline’s website.

With this LATAM recovers all its destinations it served from the United States and Europe, before the COVID-19 crisis, now the company will offer 21 international destinations from Brazil (before the pandemic there were 26).

«It is true that the international market should only recover 100% in 2023. But this does not prevent us from paying attention to destinations that already have potential demand for reopening. Highly desired, Rome and Boston are two more options for Brazilians to resume their travel plans with confidence and security» said Diogo Elias, LATAM Brazil Sales and Marketing Director.

Currently, LATAM has already reestablished service to 19 international destinations from Brazil, including: Asuncion (ASU), Barcelona (BCN), Bogota (BOG), Buenos Aires/Aeroparque (AEP), Buenos Aires/Ezeiza (EZE), Mexico City (MEX), Frankfurt (FRA), Lima (LIM), Lisbon (LIS), London Heathrow (LHR), Madrid (MAD), Mendoza (MDZ), Miami (MIA), Milan – Malpensa (MXP), Montevideo (MVD), New York (JFK), Orlando (MCO), Paris (CDG) and Santiago (SCL).


New routes

Sao Paulo (GRU) – Rome (FCO)

LATAM had abandoned its Rome (FCO) operations in October 2019, as a result of the route’s overdemand at the time. It is now resuming nonstop service with three weekly flights starting July 9, 2022. The operation will feature Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with a capacity of 410 seats in two classes (38 Premium Business/372 Economy).

The flight will depart from Guarulhos Airport (GRU) at 17:20 (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday). In the opposite direction, it will take off from Fiumicino Airport (FCO) at 12:45 (Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday).

Data obtained by Aviacionline through the Ente Nazionale Per L’Aviazione (ENAC) in 2019 the route between São Paulo (GRU) and Rome (FCO) was the main Latin American destination from Fiumicino Airport (FCO) where 443,974 passengers were mobilized.

LATAM will again offer two connections to Italy for the summer season. This will include the popular service to Milan – Malpensa (MXP), where the company served 142,278 passengers on this route prior to the Covid-19 crisis.

Sao Paulo (GRU) – Boston (BOS)

LATAM suspended operations between Sao Paulo (GRU) and Boston (BOS) in April 2020, as a result of the pandemic health crisis. As of July 1, 2022, the route will be resumed with three flights per week. The operation will feature 300-passenger Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft in two classes (30 Premium Business/270 Economy).

The flight will depart from Guarulhos (GRU) at 22:50 (Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday). In the opposite direction, it will take off from Logan Airport (BOS) at 18:15 (Monday, Thursday, and Saturday). LATAM is the only airline in South America to offer non-stop flights to Boston (BOS).
