On Easter Eve, Air Nostrum will increase its seat offer to several destinations to sustain the demand for the holiday, being 10% higher than at the same time in 2019. Flights scheduled for these dates range from April 8 to 18 and reach 23 domestic airports.
Iberia’s regional airline scheduled as many flights, especially for this holiday period, as reinforcement flights on the routes it operates during the summer season.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline, in total, Air Nostrum will fly these eleven days a total of 2,092 flights with an offer of 192,362 seats.
The cities with the highest profit will be Palma de Mallorca (PMI) with 19,818 seats offered, Valencia (VLC) with 12,780 and closes the podium, Menorca (MAH) with 11,550. There is also a large offer in Ibiza (IBZ) and Melilla (MLN) with 10,822 and 9,452 seats respectively.
Palma de Mallorca (PMI) as the biggest beneficiary
All destinations from the Mallorcan airport will be operated with Bombardier CRJ 1000 aircraft, with capacity for 100 seats. Their destinations during the holiday include: A Coruña (LCG), Almería (LEI), Badajoz (BJZ), Ibiza (IBZ), León (LEN), Lleida (ILD), Madrid (MAD), Menorca (MAH), Valencia (VLC), Valladolid (VLL) and Vigo (VGO).
Up to five return flights have been scheduled to León on 8,10,11,14 and 17; to Badajoz there will be flights on 8,11,13 and 18. Three flights will connect to Valladolid (9,13 and 17) and two to Almería (14 and 18).
Also very important is the increase of frequencies on the routes already operated from Mallorca. The inter-island connections (Ibiza and Mahón) are going to reach eight daily frequencies, an improvement of 29% over the same period in 2019.
There will also be a special operation between the Majorcan airport and Vigo with flights on 8,10,12,13,14,17 and 18. Finally, the connection with Valencia improves by 34% compared to 2019 with a special reinforcement on 8,10,11,13,14,17, and 18.
Valencia (VLC), six route reinforcements
The company operates Valencia with ATR 72-600, CRJ 200, and CRJ 1000 aircraft, with destinations including Bilbao (BIO), Ibiza (IBZ), Madrid (MAD), Malaga (AGP), Menorca (MAH), Seville (SVQ), Tenerife/North (TFN) and Vigo (VGO).
Flights to Malaga will see a 50% growth compared to 2019, with a daily route except for days 12 and 14. With Menorca, there is a 71% increase in the usual seats, with a daily frequency doubling on days 17 and 18.
With Seville, there are up to three daily frequencies on some days, which represents an improvement of 19% compared to 2019. With respect to Vigo there will be special operations on 8,10,13,14,17 and 18.
The operation with Ibiza also grows with 15% more than usual seats by reinforcing the activity on days 8,9,13,14,17 and 18.
Melilla increases all operations
Melilla is another of the epicenters of the Holy Week operations of Air Nostrum to facilitate mobility between the city and the peninsula. All flights are operated in ATR 72-600 to Almeria (LEI), Barcelona (BCN), Granada (GRX), Madrid (MAD), Malaga (AGP) and Seville (SVQ).
With Malaga it reaches eight daily frequencies, which increases seats by 5% compared to 2019.
With Granada it is extended to a second daily frequency on 8,10,15 and 17, while with Almeria also adds a second frequency on 8,11,15 and 18.
The route with Barcelona will operate on 9,14 and 16, which is a novelty compared to 2019 since this connection was not operated during Easter week.
Other links that are benefited
The operation from Santiago de Compostela improves by 11% with Bilbao, by reinforcing the usual frequencies between these two airports. And the special route for Easter from Santiago-Rosalia de Castro is the connection with Tenerife that will be made on the 9th, 13th and 18th.
Finally, Ibiza benefits from the increase of the offer with Alicante with a daily frequency which represents a growth of 17% compared to 2019.
