To showcase its five-bladed H145 helicopter in the Colombian market, Airbus is conducting a 10-day demonstration tour of Bogota, Cartagena, Madrid, Melgar and Rionegro from March 22 to April 2.

The H145 is the newest member of Airbus‘ four-ton class twin-engine helicopter product range, with flexible mission capabilities tailored especially for high-altitude and high-temperature operating conditions, such as those in Colombia.

“The H145 is an ideal helicopter for a wide variety of missions in Colombia, both civil and military. This helicopter is perfectly suited to the hot, high-altitude conditions typical of the country,” said Alberto Robles, Head of Latin America for Airbus Helicopters. “We are excited to embark on this tour throughout the country. It will be a unique opportunity for operators to experience first-hand all the mission capabilities that the H145 can offer them in their daily operations.”

A new innovative version of the H145 equipped with a five-bladed main rotor entered service in 2020. This latest upgrade to the H145 family increases the helicopter’s payload by 150 kg. (330 lb). The simplicity of the new bearingless main rotor design will also facilitate maintenance operations, further enhancing the H145’s serviceability and reliability, while improving flight comfort for both passengers and crew.

A wide range of quickly and easily interchangeable optional equipment, such as emergency floats, rescue crane, searchlight and cargo hook, are available for this aircraft. With its versatile cabin design, this multi-purpose helicopter is designed for emergency medical services and law enforcement duties, along with aerial work and passenger transport, including private and business aviation, as well as offshore operations.

The H145 is the only twin-engine helicopter to have landed on Aconcagua in the Andes Mountains (22,840 feet), where it demonstrated its high altitude power reserve. As of today, there are seven five-bladed H145s operating in Latin America for corporate and energy sector missions.

The successful H145 family has more than 1,500 helicopters in service worldwide and has logged more than six million flight hours.
